About Energy Land & Infrastructure

Many companies claim their history timeline begins when they open the doors, or set out on a mission to serve clients in a unique way. Every company builds the better mouse trap according to their promotional pitches. Energy Land & Infrastructure’s history is barely more storied than others, but its story is unique to ELI. ELI officially launched late in 2013 and has been on a steady growth trajectory in the infrastructure marketplace.

ELI’s History

ELI operations technically started when Chuck Saunders and Michael Ray purchased the branch operation of a successful regional engineering firm in Nashville that Chuck had managed for several years. Their vision was that the country’s infrastructure was growing to an irreparable age, unsustainable for another generation without action. Chuck and Michael both share a desire to grow people through their own experiences and resolve complex problems with simple principles. As casual acquaintances at Tennessee Technological University, Michael and Chuck parted ways for their professional careers barely knowing one another. Michael began his career in Memphis primarily serving the land development and home building industry and Chuck began his in Nashville, in bridges and transportation infrastructure. Chuck and Michael professionally reunited in 2008 when Michael moved to Nashville with his family. Michael joined Chuck in late 2010 where they practiced for that same regional firm. In 2013 they set out to build a company forged from a committed staff with diversified skills and ELI’s commitment to creating opportunity for individuals to grow, and thrive, on a personal and professional level while serving clients with unparalleled expertise.

ELI has grown to several dozen professionals serving clients throughout the southeast with the vision to be a regional leader providing design and field services in the public and private infrastructure market. ELI is committed to a unique business operational model that promotes and rewards diversity of expertise in individuals so it can corporately be the most responsive to the marketplace.
